Career Tip:
Kiss A$$. Yeah, you heard me right. It might not have been cool to suck up in high school or college, but as you head into the corporate world you’ll want to leave the “cool” version of you at home. Your goal as a young employee is to gain advocates internally as quickly as possible. The more connections you have at your company (as long as they’re the right connections), the quicker you will rise. Go above and beyond for your team. Show your boss all the great work you’ve done. Volunteer for stuff you don’t want to do. Be that geek you always knew you could be.
Life Hack:
Make Yourself Uncomfortable. The most uncomfortable people lead the most successful lives. Progress doesn’t come from sitting still. It doesn’t come from copying the same daily routine you’ve had for years. Progress comes from stepping out of your comfort zone. Time and time again I’ve realized that the things I’m the most afraid of provide the greatest opportunity for growth. What are you afraid of? What have you been putting off? Confront it. Overcome it.

Book to Read:
The 12 Week Year. STL Holiday Gift Idea:
Buy a Book for a Personal Growth Nerd in Your Life. Here’s a list of books that have changed my life in one small way or another. If your friend or family member is anything like me, they’ll love getting one of these books for the holidays. If they don’t like self-help, probably better off getting them a sweater. Happy holidays!
